Take off- running length

Several guys have commented on take off runs while forward launching in the past few weeks. I've even noticed myself that the run seems a little longer and climb out a little poorer- down to the warmer weather perhaps? In theory, wing performance, prop efficiency and engine carburettion suffer in warmer environments....

I will never forget my first flights in Spain, balmy calm early summer evenings in Spain near Madrid ( quite high altitute)

I thought I would run forever! I was assured it would be easier at home. I could not believe the difference when I got home and near the cool air at sea level!

Most likely the same high pressure and temperature effect?

I noticed the same.

Sounds like you need to get a new wing !!! that old one might be getting porous  or your legs are not what they used to be. :!: .when you were younger. :!:

That's a fair point Gary- the wing would be getting porous... it's on the last part of it's usable life... (will be inspected at 400hrs, and probably decomissioned- or resigned to ground handling)

A trike does appeal to me, but nothing would be handier than foot launching....
