gotta get started!

Hi
Has anyone out there got an old ground handling wing knocking about for sale. I am new to this sport keen to do things properly, about 70Kg and have ordered a new harness to hopefully do ground handling for the next 6 months before getting propper training on the continent. I know lads who will help me with the handling but any of the second hand wings are a bit pricey and generally too big for the short term plan.
If I continue I would hope to buy a new reflex wing before flying. The best I can get is 350 stearling for a 26sqm wing, is that reasonable to go for or should I hold out. Advice appreciated.
Johnny.

Hi Johnny,

I think that spending as much time as possible groundhandling on an old wing is a great way to get the basic experience before you take on any training.

I am not sure what experience you have had already, but I would caution attempting too much on your own to begin with! Best to work closely with the others who have a good bit of experience. Even ground handling can be dangerous in the wrong conditions/ without a bit of supervision!

You might find a much bigger range of secondhand wings if you search ebay.de German Ebay...

There tends to be loads more flying stuff for sale there, and normally better looked after and certified/ tested etc...
Check with them before bidding, that they will post to Ireland. Normally its no problem.

Good luck the hunt!

Oisin :D
