Hi all, am newcomer am very happy to have found this sport !

Really looking forward to doing course over the summer , probably in spain or france...sometime in august as i can only get time off then...probably too hot in ontur/spain ?? or with Mr Dakin in france...However, whoever i do the course with , i need to know if it will be recognised by the IAA. I know the course run in Ontur is OK'd.
I'm 39yrs,6'1,and fluctuating around 95-100kgs and i'm from Dublin and live here too. Well this is just a quick intro of who i am, and glad to be amongst you all...Thanks !

Aiden- very welcome to the group! I did my course with Mike Dakin in July/August 2005. It did get hot out there during the day, but most of the flying is during the morning and late evenings. You'll usually be at the field at dawn to make the most of the weather, then when it gets thermic you concentrate on the theory or go sight seeing. When conditions improve in the evening again, it's time to get back to the field for more flying- both hard work and relaxing....... if you know what i mean.

Hi Aidan,

Im based in Celbridge which is only a half hour from the city so you can drop me a line any time, you can get my details in this section. We can meet up and we can show you our gear and see us flying if you like.

Take care,

Jason

Hi Aidan,

Belated welcome to the forum ( I have been away for a week!)

Your best bet is to meet up with Jason or any of the other pilots based close to you in Dublin and learn a bit more.

You can also train here in Ireland, and you will find info on IPPHA website.

If you are in the munster area, let us know and we would be delighted to meet up.

Oisin :D
