Has irishparamotoring.ie ripped me off?

Does anybody here know anything about irishparamotoring.ie? I got a voucher worth €180 from them for my birthday in 2007 and was never able to contact them, either their website or phone numbers.

I don't really expect to get good news about this crowd but could anyone tell me anything more about whether my voucher is pretty much worthless now or what?

Hi There "Like a Fox",

Irish Paramotoring was Jim Murphy. I got on quite well with Jim and he was fairly active in paramotoring a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, he was famous for head-on conflict with the IAA - especially on the issue of class 2 medicals. He then disappeared from view with consequences like yours. Jim was never a member of IHPA.

I can provide you with full contact details for Jim and his girlfriend Jackie if you call me next week from Tuesday onwards. I wouldn't hold out much hope at all for your €180 voucher but I'd never say never. Anyway, most vouchers have expiry dates and I don't know if your voucher had an expiry date? Lots of unscrupulous operators (and I'm not just talking about flying) make money on vouchers because of low redemption rates.

Sorry to bring you bad news.

Cheers,

>>> Dara <<<

Hi Dara & "like a fox"

I to unfortunatley had bad dealings with irishparamotoring.ie - infact so much so that the irish court system is currently trying to locate either jackie o malley or Jim Murphy to serve summons on them, as they owe me over 1200 euros for a course that was paid for but was never delivered.

Dara, all the addresses that they used for website & company registrations etc are turning up a blank, and they are refusing to accept mail. My legal adviser is currently pursing the duo, for return of the funds, and i am lead to believe that either murphy or o'malley are users on this forum under a cover name, so they will no doubt be reading this also.

I have a dossier which is many pages long on them, and i can provide all addresses used by both individuals across various locations in the south, IE:

- 43 Parknamore Heights, Ballincollig, County Cork
- Gate Lodge, The Stables, Ballyconniger Lower, Blackwater, Wexford
- 13 The Gables, Pennywell, Limerick

mobile: 863857228

I have other details pertaining to the 2 individuals, though i cannot share these just at the moment, as i may be near a resolution to my case !!

If anyone else on the forum is owed money by these scoundrels then please come forward as i have a legal team who will be very intrested to add your name to the case, and perhaps pursue a group case against them.

Hi Pat and "Like A Fox",

I have a few more contact details that I am happy to provide off-line. I know of others outside Ireland who are owed money by these individuals. Indeed, the eminent Mike Dakin was, at one stage, linked with Jim Murphy but I believe that Mike is completely unconnected with any wrong-doing by these individuals. Indeed, Mike might well be yet another injured party.

My latest information is that Jim is the Irish agent for a Korean waste disposal company but I know little more than that. There is nothing more aggravating than people who run away with other people's money and I'm quite happy to provide any assistance that I can to those in pursuit of people who have not paid what they owe. I have sent you additional information in a PM.

Cheers,

Hi Pat & like a fox,
Sorry to hear about your situations, not sure if this is of any assistance to you but anyone offering flight training in Ireland that supposedly leads to an IAA Exemption/Licence, regardless of the aircraft type, must be registered with the Irish Aviation Authority and display a certificate of registration at their training facility, they can be prosecuted by the IAA for failing to comply. If your legal team contact the IAA regarding same, I'm sure the IAA will be happy to advise. Good luck with your case and I hope it leads to a financial recovery and not just a moral victory.
kind regards
Gerry

Hi Gerry,

many thanks for the pointer - this is actually one of the strings to the bow of the legal case! - I also know that apart from my representatives, there are a few other intrested irish goverment departments looking to speak to mr murphy et al, not least the revenue dept over tax issues!!
