The first two sites look very good for predictions.

I use the following website and find the graphical predictions very good..... click the play button and it will run through a 72hr sequence for the chosen region.... very good and quite accurate in my opinion.

I use a combination of the synoptic, metcheck and the MetOffice site.
The forecasts nearly always over estimate the winds, so on a day i plan to fly i note the forcasted speeds and check them with the recorded actual on the metoffice site- http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/ ... ather.html

The metoffice has the most uptodate live data for specific regions in the north, it's surprising how much variance there can be around such a small country.
